Philippines Travel Secret Tip Mati
For the ones who are leading a strenuous life and want to take a pleasure of a holiday I have found a jewel on the south of the Philippines, where South sea dreams come true. Crystal clear water, white Palm beaches, an area which is absolutely unknown. It is located on the island of Mindanao. Start point of the travel is Davao, the 2nd fastest growing City after Manila in the Philippines. There is enough space for settlers. With almost 1/4 Mio. Hectare on area is Davao one of the biggest cities of the world. Philippine Airlines flies daily from Manila to Davao.
The trip continues from Davao Bus-Terminal with an Aircon or Regular Bus. The Bus Terminal is located app. 2 km south of the city centre in Ecoland. From there it goes to Mati. Mati is the capital of Davao Oriental and is about 3 hours bus travel from Davao. Mati is the most south-east city of Mindanao.
In Mati there are some possibilities to find a place to stay. The last two times I stayed with Dr. Roque. He is the owner of a boarding house. But the last time his prices were increased quite a lot. But there are surely some other possibilities to stay. The best would be just to ask some people. A good chance for that could be the bus trip, so you could already get in contact to the people who live there.
The beach is around 8 km far from Mati and is called Dahican Beach. From Mati there are Tricycles to Dahican. The regular price is 5 P. But you could also ask a Tricycle driver for a Special Ride with bringing and picking up. For that you should spend not more than 50-100 P.
In Dahican there are little Cottages which can be used. The price for the use of these Cottages is 30 P. The people who live there are very simple. They feel ashamed to ask for the price, so you should give somebody the money for the use of the cottages. There is no drinking water at the beach side. The water will be brought to the beach with the use of vehicles. So if you want to take a quick shower after swimming in the sea you should also pay an amount for the use of the water.
Now back to that beautiful beach. I have not seen such an wonderful beach, not even in Boracay. The Dahican beach is located in a bay and therefore it is quite peaceful. The beach is really clean and has fine white sand. The people who live there are really friendly like almost everywhere on the Philippines. The most children there have not even seen white people and watched us so amazed with open mouth.
